They operate all around the incubator even with the egg however hooked up often. I highly suggest putting down a non-slip mat inside the incubator for them. Quail chicks which have just hatched are unpleasant toward one another. They peck and pull at one other chicks. They are attempting to have the other chicks up and going in case of Risk also. Y
